Expired

Curated by Roxanne Wolanczyk, Expired was selected through apexart's INT'L Open Call and presented at Essex Flowers from February 7 to March 7, 2026. The exhibition brought together Roxanne Wolanczyk, Kenneth Zoran Curwood, and Carol Saft to examine aging, mortality, relevance, and the cultural fear of being rendered obsolete.

Venue Essex Flowers, 19 Monroe Street, New York
Dates February 7 to March 7, 2026
Artists Roxanne Wolanczyk, Kenneth Zoran Curwood, Carol Saft

The project frames expiration as both slang for cultural irrelevance and a clinical euphemism for death, asking what kinds of beauty, resilience, and authority persist outside the logic of youth.

soft weapons: Keep Your Fucking Hands Off My Body

Curated by Lydia Nobles and Cassandra Neyenesch, soft weapons is a 29-person group exhibition exploring the politicized body, collective memory, and intimate relations as counterforces to surveillance, suppression, and systemic violence.

Location Greenpoint, Brooklyn
Dates October 18 to November 22, 2025
Curators Lydia Nobles and Cassandra Neyenesch

The exhibition reframes tenderness, sensuality, care, pleasure, and adornment as political tools, gathering work across sculpture, painting, installation, film, and performance in defense of bodily autonomy.
